• The Great Bell of Thien Mu pagoda

    The Great Bell of Thien Mu Pagoda is an important Buddhist tool casted under the reign of Lord Nguyen Phuc Chu (1691-1725) in 1710 for the Buddhist offerings . The bell is 3,285 Vietnamese traditional kg (over 2.000kg), 2.5m high, and its diameter is 1.4m. Its proportional form and delicated decorative patterns reflect fully the interference of the three influencial Oriental philosophies, which are Buddhism, Confucianism and Toaism in longing for the supreme peace and complete wisdom. The Great Bell of Thien Mu Pagoda is one of the oldest and most valuable antiques of the ancient Hue marking the development of Buddhism in Cochinchina from late 17th to early 18th centuries. The Bell was acknowledged as the National Treasure in 2013. P/s: Lord Nguyen Phuc Chu, Hung Long as the Buddhist name, was the 30th generation praticien of T’sao Tung Buddhist meditation section.

    The throne of Nguyen Emperors symbolizes the highest monarchic power. It is the last throne in the Vietnamese dynasties that has been kept intact until now. Nguyen emperors’ throne is placed at the most important position of Thai Hoa Hall, where the Great Audience was done twice a month. The throne was made of gilt wood. The gilt parasol sculpted with the dragon pattern is above the throne. The throne was acknowledged as the National Treasure in 2015.
  • Khiem Cung Ky stele at Khiem tomb of emperor Tu Duc

    Khiem Cung Ky is the stele with the epitaph written by emperor Tu Duc himself (1848-1883) in 1871. Rectangular stele has two sides decorated with the same pattern but different inscriptions. The top is in gong shape carved with “dragon and cloud” motif consisting of dragon face above and twisted tail below, surrounded with clouds and fired balls. Four stele ears are carved with four dragons, in which the two upper ears carved in relief with “flying dragon” while four lower ears carved in relief with “dragon turning its head”. The stele border is embossed with “two dragons flanking the sun”, “flying dragon”, “descending dragon”. The pedestal is in kneeling feet shape and carved elaborately: the outside surface embossed and engraved with dragon, cloud, lion mask and repeated S-shaped pattern. The stele and its pedestal are put on a bi-level thanh stone base with step system.

    The collection of Bronze Cauldrons in the period of Nguyen Lord was composed of 10 ones with different sizes and weight, cast under the reign of Lord Nguyen Phuc Tan (1648-1687) to symbolize the power and the lastingness of the Dang Trong (Inner region) government.
