This exhibition introduces the 03 documentary heritages of Nguyen dynasty that was recognized by UNESCO (also called Memory of the World Committee for Asia Pacific-MOWCAP). The exhibition focuses on the documentary heritages of special themes such as the Woodblocks on Nation’s names, Royal record on the Nguyen dynasty’s examination, and the poems on Hue royal architecture on the national pride.

WOODBLOCKS OF NGUYEN DYNASTY: is the first World’s documentary heritage in Vietnam to be recognized by UNESCO. They are the woodblock used to print books of Han characters of different types such as history books, geography books, and literature books, so on. The heritage reflects both the values of information and aesthetics since they are the excellent works of wooden sculpture by nature. On July 31, 2009, it was acknowledged as the World’s Documentary’s heritage.

IMPERIAL RECORDS OF NGUYEN DYNASTY (1802 – 1945): is the second documentary heritage of Nguyen dynasty that was recognized as the World. Those are the administrative documents from the central to local levels submitting to the dynasty for the emperor’s ratification that solves the problems of politics, military, foreign affairs, economy, culture, and society. The content of Nguyen dynasty’s royal record fully reflects the views and policies on internal and foreign affairs of the dynasty. On May 14, 2014, it was recognized as the World’s documentary heritage by MOWCAP. In this exhibition, the Nguyen dynasty’s royal records will be on Nguyen dynasty’s examination, and specifically the human resource education.

ROYAL LITERATURE ON HUE ROYAL ARCHITECTURE (1802-1945): is the third documentary heritage of Nguyen dynasty to be recognized. While the Woodblock includes the documents carved on the board for book printing, the Literature on the royal architecture are poems sculpted on the planks. On May 19, 2016, the Literature on Hue royal architecture was recognized as the World’s Documentary Heritage by MOWCAP. In the exhibition, the poems of Han characters sculpted on Hue royal architecture will be in different themes, but most highlighted of all is the nation pride.

“The Approach to the World’s Documentary Heritage in Vietnam via Nguyen Dynasty’s Documentary Heritage” includes more than 70 documents about the woodblocks, royal records and poems sculpted on Hue royal architecture, and 16 versions of the woodblock. It is hoped that the exhibition will bring public generally and researchers particularly interesting impressions.
