THE TOURIST GOLDEN WEEK AT HUE HERITAGE SITE” (April 22– 28, 2017)
Welcoming the 42th anniversary of National Reunion (April 30, 1975- April 30, 2017), and responding to the Hue Traditional Craft Festival 2017 (April 28-May 2, 2017), Hue Monuments Conservation Centre will hold the 1st Tourist Golden Week at Hue Heritage Site, 2017.

1. Time: April 22 - 28, 2017.

2. Venue: All sites in the Complex of Hue Monuments.

3. Priorities and promotion for visitors to Hue heritage sites during the first Tourist Golden Week in 2017

 

- Be of ticket-free for local people to visit the Imperial City by Night (ID is required as proof), provincial investors; and students from universities and colleges in Thua Thien Hue province.

- 50% discount for the “Imperial City by Night” to visitors who had the daytime ticket of Imperial City.

- Be of ticket-free for the visit to Thieu Tri emperor's tomb and An Dinh Residence if visitors buy the ticket-package of the Imperial City-Minh Mang tomb-Khai Dinh tomb. They will also be of ticket-free for other sites such as Gia Long tomb, Thieu Tri tomb, Hon Chen Temple and An Dinh Residence if they buy the ticket-package of the Imperial City-Minh Mang tomb-Tu Duc tomb-Khai Dinh tomb, the ticket will be valid within two days.

- Be of ticket-free to visit Hue Royal Antiquities Museum to enjoy the unique and valuable Collection of Royal Antiquities and the Section of Cham Antiques.

- Be 50% discounted tickets for domestic groups of student (affirmed by Hue Monuments Conservation Centre, 23 Tong Duy Tan street);

- Be free for the tour guide service on site for groups of 20 tourists upward;

15% discount for the royal costume photography service in the Imperial City. One free souvenir photo for a group of 8 visitors upward in visiting the Imperial City.

- 50% discount for the Court Music performance at Duyet Thi Duong royal theatre, (10:00 AM – 10:40 AM; 3:00 PM – 3:40 PM every day);

-   10% discount for the electric bus service of Hoang Thanh Company with one free bottle of drinking water;

- 10% - 20% discount at souvenir shops and refreshments within Hue Heritage Site during the Tourism Golden Week (showing your ticket as proof).

- Opportunities to freely enjoy various performances as follows:

+ From 8:00 AM to 8:45 AM: the Return of Grand Empress at the Long-Covered Corridor of the Forbidden Purple City;

+ From 8:00 AM to 8:40 AM (daily): the Change of Guard in front of Ngo Mon Gate;

+ From 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM (daily): Hue Chamber Music performance at Truong Sanh Residence;

+ From 9:30 AM to 9:45 AM (daily): the Great Music performance at the yard of The Mieu temple;

+ From 7:45 AM to 8:00 AM (daily): The Great Music performance on the yard of Thai Hoa palace;

+ + From 8:30 AM to 9:00 AM; 9:15 AM to 90:45 AM & 10:00 AM to 10:30 AM (daily): Hue Chamber Music performance at Xung Khiem Waterside-bower, Tu Duc Tomb;

4. Some highlighted activities during the Tourist Golden Week

a. The Imperial City by Night

- Time: every night from 7:00 PM to 10:00 PM (since April 22, 2017 onward)

- Price:

+ International visitors: 150.000 VNĐ/ ticket.

- The content of program

Being the political centre of the Nguyen dynasty, Hue Imperial city has always been an indispensable destination of visitors for years.

In 2017, Hue Monuments Conservation Centre is planning to open the “Imperial City by Night" as a highlight point in the visiting tour in the Central Vietnam.

Coming to "Hue Imperial City by Night", visitors have opportunities to experience with Hue Heritage as follows:

- Unforgettable experiences of sparkling scenery of Hue Imperial City from Ngo Mon Gate to Trung Dao Bridge, Thai Dich Lake,  The Mieu Temple, Dien Tho Residence, as well as Truong Sanh Residence, and so on.

- Impressive experiences of royal ceremonies such as the Change of Guards, performances of Dai nhac – the Great music and Tieu nhac –the Small music, etc.

- Interesting experiences about performances such as martial practice, royal dances, royal songs, as well as royal games. All of these activities will be vividly rehabilitated.

- Experiences  on Hue culture through the impressive exhibition on the 5 World Heritages in Hue together with other exhibitions at the site.

- Experiences on Hue traditional handicraft, service activities at Phu Noi Vu complex, Truong Sanh Residence, Dien Tho Residence, etc.

+ At Ngo Mon Gate

* The Change of Guards ceremony (7:00pm, 8:00pm and 9:00pm)

+ At the courtyard of Thai Hoa Palace

* Performance of Tieu Nhac-the Small Music (7:15pm and 8:15pm)

* Training of martial art for the Imperial Guards (7:30pm and 8:30pm)

+ At the courtyard of Can Chanh Residence

* Royal dance “Trinh tuong tap khanh” (8:00pm and 9:00pm)

* Royal games (8:00pm and 9:00pm)

+ At the two octagonal buildings in the Forbidden Purple City

*Performance of three instruments and Ca Hue-Hue Chamber Music performance (8:15 pm and 9:15pm)

+ At the courtyard of Truong Sanh Residence

* Performance “The Eight Immortals” (8:30pm and 9:30pm)

b. Exhibition “Trade relation between Japan and Vietnam in history”

- Venue: Hue Royal Antiquities Museum (No. 3 Le Truc Str., Hue City)

- Time: The opening ceremony will start at 14:00 pm on February 27th, 2017 and end on May 5th, 2017. This is a significant activity in a series of events to welcome the Emperor and Empress of Japan on their visit to Hue.

c. The opening of service activities and the performance of some Hue traditional handicraft

- Time: the expected opening ceremony on April 22nd, 2017.

- Venue: Phu Noi Vu area – Hue Imperial city.

Visitors will enjoy many interesting experiences on the process of making traditional handicraft products.

In the rest of the year, there are two more Tourist Golden Weeks at Hue Heritage site on the Vietnamese Independence Day (September 2nd 2017) and welcoming the New Year 2018.
