Entitled ‘Vietnam’s Hoang Sa and Truong Sa - Historical Evidence’, the exhibition introduces nearly 150 maps and documents, publications, artifacts gathered from the resources of researchers and  scholars in the country and from abroad.

The highlight of the exhibition is the display of three Atlas books (official Atlas) published by the Chinese government, which show that the southern Chinese territory is limited to Hai Nan Island, without any mention of Vietnam’s Hoang Sa and Truong Sa archipelagoes.

The items on display were also previously exhibited in Ha Tinh province and Da Nang city and those events attracted a large number of domestic and international visitors.

Addressing the opening ceremony, Deputy Minister of Information and Communication Do Quy Doan said the exhibition is historical evidence affirming Vietnam’s sacred and inviolable sovereignty over Truong Sa (Spratly) and Hoang Sa (Paracel) archipelagoes.

The event offers an opportunity to raise awareness, solidarity and responsibility of Vietnamese people, especially the youth, to protect and affirm Vietnam’s sovereignty, he said.

The exhibition runs until July 15.
